SonicScope

This software generates dynamic visualizations from sound input in real time: you see what you hear.
The computer continuously samples the incoming audio signal. This data is analyzed and interpreted in multiple ways by various software agents that each have distinct visual attributes and behaviour. The software agents can respond to several characteristics of sound, like loudness, pitch, tone, rhythm, frequency spectrum, phase etc. These sonic features can alter the appearance of the agent, it could change size, shape, colour, orientation, position, speed etc. Because of the strong coupling of input and output one can experience a natural unity of sound and vision.
