digital film, unique HD software, 9 minutes
Diemerzeedijk 2007, is a project for which the artists documented six locations around the
Diemerzeedijk (a dike around the IJsselmeer near Amsterdam). Each film has a duration of nine mintes
and covers exactly one year, from one January to the next. On a weekly basis, each scene was repeatedly
photographed from the same position and at the same time of day, around noon. With custom developed software
each series of shots was edited into fluid transitions to make changes in seasons and landscape visible.
Slow processes of transformation that are never directly perceptible in daily life, are made perceptible on a
sensory level. The calmness - that one experiences on the site concerned - is still present in
the resulting films.
