Vegetable Collections
In recent years Driessens & Verstappen have collected and copied rejected products of three types of vegetables: potato,
carrot and pepper. This has resulted in three so called Morphotheques. Each Morphotheque conserves the rejected products
with a focus on the form-diversity of a crop that the food industry is trying to standardize.
Morphotheque #8 (1994) is a collection of 28 copies of potatoes (cultivar 'jaerla'),
executed in painted aluminum. Morphotheque #9 (1997) consists 32 copies of carrots and
Morphotheque #15 (2011) of 27 peppers (green, red and yellow bell pepper), both
executed in painted plaster.
