The Amelisweerd estate has a high ecological value and a rich biodiversity, which is expressed in characteristic landscapes and vistas. The artwork All Year Round adds an extra layer to the experience of these landscapes.
At four locations at Oud-Amelisweerd and Fort Rijnauwen, the difference in seasons is made visible on your cell phone. A QR code reveals the 360° landscape photo of the opposite season and as you look around, the image on the screen corresponds with the scenery behind. For example, if the visitor reads the QR code on July 20, the 360° panorama of the week of January 20 appears on the screen. By reading the data from the orientation sensor in the phone, the cutout that appears on the screen can coincide exactly with the view of the landscape behind. The screen fills in the piece of landscape, as it were, with a fragment from the 360° photo of 6 months earlier. Even when you turn around, the image moves with you. In this way the phone forms a window on your surroundings from another season‘s perspective. This difference makes you aware of the powerful annual metamorphosis of our natural environment.

In order to evoke the opposite seasonal image for an entire year, the artists have shot weekly 360° panorama photo‘s at all four locations. A pole with the QR code was subsequently placed at the location where the tripod stood for the recordings. The poles with QR codes will remain in place for at least one year - until June 2023 - so that the work remains accessible after the GARDENING exhibition.

Het landgoed Amelisweerd heeft een grote ecologische waarde en een rijke biodiversiteit uitgedrukt in karakteristieke landschappen en vergezichten. Het kunstwerk Het Jaar Rond voegt een extra laag toe aan de beleving van deze landschappen.
Op vier locaties bij Oud-Amelisweerd en Fort Rijnauwen kun je via je telefoon het verschil der seizoenen zien. Via een QR-code wordt de 360° landschapsfoto van het tegenovergestelde seizoen opgeroepen en terwijl je rondkijkt, correspondeert de foto op je scherm met het landschap erachter. Als de bezoeker bijvoorbeeld op 20 juli de QR code inleest, dan verschijnt het 360° panorama van de week van 20 januari op het beeldscherm. Door de gegevens van de orientatie-sensor in de telefoon uit te lezen, kan de uitsnede die op het beeldscherm verschijnt, exact samenvallen met de blik op het achterliggende landschap. Het beeldscherm vult a.h.w. het stukje landschap in, met een fragment uit de 360° foto van 6 maanden daarvoor. Ook als je rond draait, beweegt het beeld mee. Zo vormt de telefoon een venster op je omgeving vanuit het perspectief van een ander seizoen. Dit verschil maakt je bewust van de krachtige jaarlijkse metamorfose van onze natuurlijke omgeving.

Om gedurende een heel jaar het tegenovergestelde seizoensbeeld op te kunnen roepen, hebben de kunstenaars een jaar lang wekelijks een 360° opname opnames gemaakt, op alle vier de locaties. Op de plek waar het statief voor de opnames heeft gestaan, werd nadien een paal met de QR code geplaatst. De paaltjes met QR-codes blijven minimaal één jaar staan - tot juni 2023 - zodat het werk na de GARDENING expositie toegankelijk blijft.
