On the 16th of September six tomatoes at each location were picked for the taste test, which was carried out by sixteen people. Each participant got a numbered tomato from all five of the locations without any further information as to its origin, and was asked to give a taste description and a taste evaluation of each tomato. That there are very great differences between the tomatoes from the different locations as to appearance and taste, may be deduced from the descriptions and may be seen in the pictures. The City Cloister (hobby greenhouse) tomatoes were generally considered the tastiest, and the Gezonde Gronden (shop window) tomatoes and those from Jan Huldman's roof terrace tied for second and third place. Almost unanimously, the tomatoes from the urban garden were thought to be the least appetizing.
