Herbarium Vivum 1
Herbarium Vivum 1 (2013) is a site specific installation for the exhibition (Re)Source, the 10th edition of Beelden op de Berg, at the Belmonte Arboretum in Wageningen.
Ten different crop plants are growing in an extremely limited space: inside a frame that is almost 2-dimensional. In this way,
the plants will finally resemble their own representation in herbaria and botanical illustrations.
The ten crops in the living herbarium consist of: hemp,
mustard,
cucumber,
corn,
borage,
marrowfat,
poppy,
tomato,
tobacco and
potato.
