Inspired by the concept of the herbarium, Driessens & Verstappen have executed two experiments to grow 2-dimensional plants in a living herbarium: Herbarium Vivum 1 (2013) consists of 10 crop plants that grow in a flat vertical plane and Herbarium Vivum 2 (2018) consists of 8 photo series of native plants that have grown in a flat horizontal plane.
