Vegetable Collections
Since the mid-nineties Driessens & Verstappen have collected and copied rejected products of three types of vegetables: potato,
carrot and pepper. This has resulted in three so called Morphoteques. Each Morphoteque conserves the rejected products
with a focus on the form-diversity of a crop that the food industry is trying to standardize.
Morphoteque #8 (1994) 28 copies of potatoes (cultivar 'jaerla'), casts in aluminum and acrylic paint.
Morphoteque #9 (1997) 32 copies of carrots, casts in plaster and acrylic paint
Morphoteque #15 (2011) 27 copies of peppers (green, red and yellow bell pepper), casts in plaster and acrylic paint.
