Flashforward (2017) is a land art project in Nijmegen. It was one of the 10 artworks of the art route along the Waal river, on view from 2017 to 2020. It reflects on the future city district Hof van Holland and the transition of the landscape from rural to urban. In the work of Driessens & Verstappen, vestiges of subterranean building foundations appear as drawings in the pasture, caused by artificial cropmarks created by the artists. By changing the structure of the soil the growth process of the grass is influenced, an effect similar to natural cropmarks.
